Home Theater
Systems
There was a time when a 24" TV set would more then
satisfy the average American family. If you and your
family wanted to enjoy a movie, the only choice was the local
movie theater.
First the VCR was introduced which exposed us to the
convenience of renting taped movies. Soon it was replaced
with the dvd and then we saw the rapid introduction of LCD and
Plasma TV's. The addition of surround sound amplifiers
added to the complete theater experience.
Today it seems that everyone has the desire to have their
own home theater system of one type or another.
There are many
views as to what really composes a home
theater system. The basic home
theater system might be composed only of
a 32" or larger TV with external
speakers.

Generally
speaking, a home theater system is a
combination of electronic components
designed to recreate the experience of
watching a movie in a theater. The
entire idea of creating a home theater is to
give you a better experience when viewing
movies.

When you watch a
movie on a home theater system, you are more
immersed in the experience than when you
watch one on an ordinary TV. A huge
contributor to this is the sound
reproduction. Even the entry level
home theater systems in-a-box can supply you
with surround sound effects that bring the
entire movie experience into your living
room.

Today the terms 'home theater system' can be applied to the
basic TV with simple box system or can range up to an
entire media room built and dedicated to your home viewing
experience. Of course high end home theater systems come
can come with a hefty price tag but many chose to build their
systems one component at a time.

You'll find your results will only be limited to your
available space and budget. This is one reason that home
media rooms housing high end home theater systems are now
growing in popularity with many home remodelers.
